I need to get a new bike as my Giant mountain bike is beyond economical repair! General riding includes a few tracks/tow paths but mostly roads so I'm considering a hybrid.

I like my previous Giant and hear Decathlons offerings are pretty good so this is what I've come up with so far. I've no idea what I'm looking at in terms of components so am open to suggestions. Budget around £400/500.

Are any of these bikes any good for the money? Can anyone suggest anything better or direct me as to what I should be looking or?

I've got a Giant Roam 3 which has some slightly better components than the 4 you've linked to, stronger hubs being one thing. Not got anything to compare it to, but it's serving me well as a commuting steed, done about 200 miles on it so far and not got any cause for complaint.

I have a Giant Seek 2, which I use for commuting and weekend rides. I've put 1800 km on it over the last 5 months, riding in all conditions, and it's been very good. Seems to do everything quite well, and I'm quite happy with my choice.

Got one of these http://www.evanscycles.com/products/trek/72-fx-dis...

I see this model has the cable disc brakes... whilst mine (2012) has hydraulic.

Can't really fault it for a mid priced hybrid... pays yer money... takes yer choice!

I have been thinking of getting a Fit 5 or 7. Do you think the 7 is worth the extra?

Also have you looked at the Charge range?
