I drove myself and my little lad down to Hastings from Oxford last night to visit my parents for the weekend (boys weekend away!), the journey took 2.5 hours with very little traffic, and I used 20 litres of fuel! 130 miles, so it works out about 29mpg!! Very impressed with that! My ajp8 cerb would never have managed that!!

Ha ha yes I did think that! It's from the gauge so probably a load of tosh and its actually about to run out! I'm going to refuel in a bit and then we'll see!

I've achieved a true 27mpg sat on a motorway at a steady 75-80, that was calculated by brimming then refilling to brim. Its almost an eco car biggrin

Back in the good old bad old days when I did track days in my 4ltr mk 1 Tuscan I recorded my mpg, based in filling the tank as - steady motorway 28 mpg, spirited road 18 mpg, and track 8 mpg. Hope this casts a little light on the subject.

I got 27mpg from Essex to Ayrshire on my first drive about the same as my old chim 400. The cerb gets around 25mpg but it needs a re map.

My record was 27mpg of a 90% motorway journey from Basingstoke to Cardiff.

Just picked up my new (to me) Tuscan this morning and already driven 100 miles. Don't think I'll be anywhere near that today! smile

Would that be a rosso red one from Didcot by ny chance?

I've just filled up and with a bit of spirited driving this morning managed to drop it down to 22mpg, so still good considering! I managed an average of around 15mpg over the colder months going out on the odd 'fun' drive!

yes that's the one! and quite nice it is too. Seems to make all the right noises and nothing has fallen off so far smile

Just about to head out for another quick hoon with the GF now the traffic will have died down a bit.. will see if I can "beat" 22mpg! smile

I know the guy you bought it off! Very tidy car! Good luck with it! Oh and put some new decent rear tyres on it if its the first thing you do! He was too tight to replace them! ha ha ha!!! I've helped done a fair bit of work to the car over the 10 months he owned it including replacing the clutch! Its much better now hes fitted the GG pros, but ut never felt 'that' quick to me, certainly not as quick as mine. But a LOT smoother than mine to drive!! Where abouts in Oxford are you? I'm also in Didcot. You didn't have to travel far to buy your Tuscan!!!

Haha, yes, that's the plan, going to ruin the ones that are on there over the next couple of weekends then off to centre gravity to get the handling sorted properly which will probably mean new tyres and a few other bits and bobs at the same time.

Looks like he's got a lot in his plate sorting that house out! smile

I'm just down the road in Wallingford, only been in the area for 18 months, you'll have to show me some good roads one weekend!!

Agreed, it does seem a bit slower than my old Tuscan I had a few years ago, not sure what's up there. Had the same rebuild at power as my last one had. Not too fussed at the moment, will see if I can blow the cobwebs out of it over the next couple of months!

Handling needs sorting which I booked today, bump steer is crazy on the thing, pressing on has it sit down and point at the sky too! All minor things to sort thought with any luck, always happy to throw a few hundred quid at making a car a bit more predictable at speed!

Will be ordering bits to sleeve the cans too, need more pops and bangs! smile

Yep, it sounds nice but way too quiet for a TVR! I've got some powertech cans in my garage that we were going to put on it to see how it sounded with them but Matt couldn't get one of his cans off.

Sounds like we'll still see it around then!

I need to go the other way got pulled over a few weeks ago by the boys in blue and threatened with a section 59. ASBO for giving some loud pedal under a bridge. Woops he did say it sounded good.

First time I have ever been pulled was only in first gear at legal speeds but it is loud lol
