I lost faith, I have to admit...two weeks ago I was ready to dive into a 996 turbo. The throttle response on the Lambo has been altered (apparently Lambo in Italy ask all dealers to 'remap' the ECU at the 1500 mile service, and this can render some cars almost undriveable) and made pulling off in first gear embarrasingly difficult. It meant stalling 3 or 4 times every journey and really made me think about chopping the bloody thing in for something German. I dropped the car off at HR Owen last Saturday and left it with them for a few days. I picked up the car (fully valeted and warmed up)yesterday and I have got to say ...how could I have even thought about it...The car has been remapped to its original settings and feels as great. I was annoyed at the start of the week, but at least with Italian engineering you dont get boring consistancy! Can't wait to get in it tonight and give it some.
