I'm looking at joining a cycle club so as to help me get some more miles & experience under my belt.
The club I'm looking to join has a Monday meeting in a local hall. Before I join I would like to know what sort of events take place.
Do different clubs do different things or is there a general agenda that all clubs have?
I know the answer should be go along and find out, but just a bit on forewarning would help.

My club has a Monday evening meet. Most weeks there is somebody (normally a club member) giving a talk or presentation on something. Tonight is tips for route planning websites I think. Mostly however it is the older members of the club getting together for tea, biscuits and a chat.
I don't tend to go that often!
