Spinning Bikes

Seeing as I can't ride at the moment I've been pondering buying a spinning bike to set up in the spare room and gather dust keep myself in some sort of shape.

I've ridden them before in the gym and so on, but apart from that I don't really know how much I'd need to spend to get a worthwhile one (secondhand is fine).

Are there advantages to magnetic resistance over friction? Some makes that are 'proper' as opposed to Tesco specials? I'm assuming that I'd be able to set any of them up to get a decent (small) saddle-bar drop... are they >all< fixed-wheel? Are there any with power meters (I'm not going to be buying a Wattbike...)

Why not get a set of rollers? You already have the bike, why spend the extra on a house bound machine.

Actually I don't have the bike - the reason I can't ride is that I was knocked off and both the bike (rear triangle) and I (left wrist/hand) are damaged... Would be able to sit on a static bike and hold on one-handed though.
