Have been working in fareham for a couple of weeks and commute via the M27, east bound in the morning isn't normally a problem but west bound on the way home.... is it the norm for the mongs to sit in the middle lane at a steady 60mph causing traffic problems?

Seems to be worst from J2-1 for MLM behaviour.

I'm doing J2 - 11 in the morning and it's failrly easy as I mentioned, I do J11- 3 on the way home and the amopunt of mongs is unreal, last week there was a white 13 plate Civic, middle lane at a constant 60mph! he just sat there oblivious to the other vehicles undertaking/overtaking him.

Oh and I still haven't spotted any of you, where are all your stickered up cars?!

You should swap jobs with rehab71, then neither of you would have to go anywhere.

I do J2 - 9 in the morning and back in the afternoon, and it can be frustrating, especially the seeming lack of ability to do 50 in the 50 avg speed zone, its always around 40, ffs. Then again, the carriageway going the other way is often ground to a halt, so it could be worse.

Did the return leg at around 18:30 one day and very good progress was made hehewhistle

I go from Junct 11 to Ringwood every morning at around 0650 and back leaving Ringwood around 1600. Either in a green Octavia VRs (** VRS) with smiley on the right hand side on the back of the boot or in a Onyx Black DP9 coupe (** 07 SPY) with a smiley just above the tax disc.

A friend from 'Up North' told me that the average speed cameras were fake as there was no gap between the bottom of the big yellow pole and the concrete block, therefore no wires leading from the camera to the terminal. He said that real 'active' cameras had the concrete block installed first with the connecting wires coming up through the middle. When the long pole with cameras is attached to the concrete block there is always a gap of around 1 to 2 inches where the wires have been connected.

Does anyone know of anyone that has received a speeding fine?????

If you think the M27 is bad try the A31.

Aaaaargh, half the drivers stay in the outside lane and the inside lane could be empty for half a mile or so. It is so frustrating with the traffic in the outside lane tarvelling at 60mph. I used to drive faster but it is quicker to go at just under 70 mph and use the empty inside lane.

Probably not a PH'er but on my way home yesterday I did laugh when I spotted an A class Mercedes with the plate PR08 LOM as the owner had stuck a big sticker infront of it saying 'NO'

YES very noticeable in a VX, there's one on the West side that's bloody dangerous if you're doing over 70!

At Last.... Westbound roadworks finished by Whiteley with the cameras supporting a nice sign that says "Camera not in Use". All 3 lanes open with 50mph speed restriction lifted.

Eastbound probably tomorrow.

Eastbound Cameras switched off this afternoon when I went through, cones still there though. Did notice the traffic backing up Hedge End to Eastleigh westbound this morning worse than when the roadworks were there - could be coincidence I suppose.

Possibly. I live in Whiteley, and feel it has generally flowed slightly better with the 50 limit in place.

I use the M25 past Heathrow from time to time with the 50mph limit in operation and the traffic seems to flow quite well. Why can't this be installed on the M27 which must be one of the busiest and slowest motorways in the country, especially around rush hour time. Instead, all we get is money spent on huge signs that tell us to think bike, don't go to sleep while you're driving, the A9 is shut (what?) it's five minutes to the next junction etc. Highways Authority and commonsense?.....oxymoron alert.

There are various plans in place to make sections of it a managed motorway and/or use the hard shoulder as an additional lane.

Hopefully this will happen sooner rather than later as it does tend to flow better when there are roadworks with a 50mph limit as that helps manage the flow.

Driving West in the morning there is a big sign that says "2 Hours to M5/Exeter" literally 200 yards further on is says "2 hours 10 minutes to M5/Exeter". Every morning irrespective of traffic flow.

I do notice a big difference when they remind people to 'Keep Left - Do not hog the middle lane'. This should be on all of them all of the time unless they have something interesting to say like 'Speed camera 1 mile ahead'.
