I have foolishly bought a Hungarian registered Trabant.

I figure at MOT time I need all the help I can get, so any tips for garages used to dealing with classics & oddballs ??

There are a few things MOT wise re this that I don't want to upset the MOT tester by having to refer him to the book (i.e. it's 2 stroke, so no emissions test applicable, it's 1985 so doesn't require side repeaters, rear belts etc).

I'm in Toddington, but don't mind a bit of blue smoked trek for a sympathetic garage

Thanks

David Thomas Garage at Codicote - they do my Fulvia (and lots of old Alfas, other Lancias and Ferraris). Just what you are after.

Davies Brothers at Wilstead

They don't take cards so remember to take your cheque book, but by far the best MOT station ever!

Thanks chaps, some good ideas, Boxter ... Hi, the garage in Toddington used to do the servicing on my wife's previous Volvo, but we fell out over a badly fitted HT lead (how hard can it be), that had not been put on properly, and subsequently melted on the following journey (of which she complained about it being slow) !....then they refused to entertain any further responsibility because of the excessive mileage she'd done since it was serviced (40 miles)..... so to answer your question .... no ....

We are just up the hill from you, first house on the right as you enter the village, you must have driven by use many times !
