fuel tank/ diff mount
Discussion
Hi everyone
I`m close to lowering the body after an outrigger replacement and chassis tidy up. Now, I`ve put new body to chassis rubbers on ready for the body drop and after a good look around, I noticed something that was a bit disturbing. The fuel tank is very close to the diff rear mount, very close ! I`ve put a piece of thick rubber between the two, but I didn`t notice the issue when it all came apart. Has anyone ever come across this before ? If so, what was your remedy ?

Hello Barry, that`s exactly what I`m on about. I know the tank is pretty well strapped down, I`ve had the tank and cradle off for a good clean up. I`m not keen on a thin walled tank being so close to a diff mount without some form of protection. I plugged that gap with thick rubber, peace of mind and all that

Hi Steve,
How close us it?
I mean if you can get a thick piece of rubber in there, surely there must be a good gap?
There is a bonus gained by your piece of rubber, it should stop the diff tail bolts from dropping out if they come loose, as I believe happened to Dave Lynch at the Stratford w/end.
I'd recommend loctite if you still have access.
