Investment - best place to stick a few grand?
Discussion
If you've not used your full ISA allowance, then I'd suggest a Stocks & Shares ISA - that is if you're comfortable with the risk, volatility and fluctuations in the market values of an investment portfolio.
Several companies have online investment platforms which allow you to research and buy funds and in a Stocks & Shares ISA. You can also do a questionnaire which establishes your attitude to risk and suggests the appropriate asset allocation (the amount to invest in different sectors such as property, equities, fixed interest, etc.) Being an ISA there's the obvious tax benefit too.
Look at people like Chelsea Financial, Moneysupermarket.com, Bestinvest, etc.
You'd also be able to top-up the ISA if you had spare cash in future and importantly you can withdraw the cash quickly and free of charge in case you need it in a rush.
