Thule roof bars

Not quite sure where to put this, but this forum seems the most sensible.
According to the Thule website, my car needs 969 roof bars that are 127cm long. On ebay, there are a number of 869 bars of the same length. 869 bars have been discontinued by Thule and I'm wondering if the 969 bars are just updated versions.
So as they are the same length, will the 869 fit ok.
