Since buying my 997.2 C2S last month, and reading various threads on the warranty being invalid if it gets serviced at an independent. I have just booked the car in to go for a service with my local OPC.
When I bought the car at the beginning of the month it had just had it's second service at an Indy, and it has been worrying me ever since, even though the OPC said it does not invalidate the warranty if you get it done at an Indy. as long as they use Porsche parts.
I explained to the OPC that it had just been serviced, and I was not comfortable with an Indy stamp in the book, so they are going to re-service it, and stamp the book. The peace of mind regarding the warranty will more than compensate me for cost of the service.
