I'm guessing build number.......
515 TVR S1's built in 88, according to the Wiki..
Does -385 tie up with your chassis/vin plate?
Where on your door is the number located, can't make it out from the pic?

I think its the number of the parts to go on that TVR, All my doors and cards are 148.

It's vide for some being longer, shorter, fatter etc

I believe it's a simple number system to ensure right part goes back to right car after getting split up for painting, trimming etc.

Things like door cards are not drilled to a template, each one was individually drilled against its matching door.

I think it is the build number for your car. I know my car is number 247 from the chassis number, and I keep finding that number written on bits of the car (which is reassuring). The last one was found written in biro on a bit of masking tape stuck on the inside of the gearstick gaiter.
