Just been oop north (in the car not on the bike) and as I was going round Birmingham I saw the sigh for the toll road. They want £2 for bikes. Not that I would ever use the bypass. What a pain to have to, stop, gloves off, dig round, find £2, gloves on, then off you go!!!! even worse if you are wearing a waterproof shell.
Can't believe they even bother to collect it.(Severn bridge in to wales doesn't)
Has anyone bothered to use the toll road on a bike?

Did it in a car.
Threw my two pound coins in the catch net, one missed and rolled under the f***ing car.
Had to reverse to retrieve it and caused absolute chaos.
Scratched round for it swearing profusely, found it, looked up to see a security type guy watching me.
I felt bad enough but the arrogance of the guy, just standing there staring at me just made me more angry.
As for the road, it saves time and it's very good and I'll certainly keep using it car or bike!

I used to use it going from Telford to my hometown of Doncaster.
Its fantastic for that purpose I miss out going all the way down the A5 to the A38. Which if anyone knows this stretch of road is full of traffic lights and speed camera's.
It used to be £1 and has recently gone up to £2. Even though in the planning stage for this bikes were going to be free!.
havnt been on it for a while but it used to be virtualy empty and was great for max speed runs on the bike
Mu ha ha. Now that really did improve my journey time!
That was until I noticed un marked cars on there and marked trafpols use it alot as well.
wont be using it anymore £2 is too much IMO bikes should be free.

I have used it a couple of times.
Great road, very quick very smooth. Hit 1.5 units early this year.
BUT..... Be Very carefully there now....
Was travelling up there a few weeks ago in the car with family. in the space of 2-3 miles by the 'plaza's' in the middle we counted 8 (eight) plod cars pulling people over , plus 2 vans with camera's, all on our side of the road.
They have sussed that people were flying down there and came along to stop the fun incase a child runs over the motorway ...f.f.s.
IMO the motorway is mory than safe enough to travel about 100mph down there, plus most of the other drivers are pretty good drivers and have choosen to go down there, therefore the driving standard is much higher along the toll than on the regular m6.
