I think they're great. They require a little bit of getting used to at first, especially when brand new as the cleats sometimes need some force to engage. Gets much easier once they're bedded in a bit.
Yes, they do need a bit of TLC, but this amounts to regular re-greasing which is dead easy.
Bad points? Well, replacement cleats are expensive; do yourself a favour and buy the coffee shop caps or Keep-On Kovers to prolong the base plates and screws when walking on them. Also, they really don't like mud and can get gummed up a bit so you need to be a bit more careful where you walk.
All minor things though. I'd never switch to anything else. They're also said to be especially good for those with knee problems due to the level of float and adustability.

Another vote here, great pedal/cleat combo - easy to use, easy to adjust (although there is a lot of adjustment in them so it might take a few rides to get them right).
Never had any real issues with maintenance, a drop of lube on the springs once a week to keep them moving freely is about as much maintenance as I have ever given them!
