Hi
Been thinking about returning to the Chimaera fold after 9 years away from TVR
but this caught my eye as being reasonably local, nice colour, cheaper to run (hopefully) etc
And a few of you S owners have heaped praise on the model so,

Anyone know it please?

Dont know this one myself but ,in answer to your question ,,, Yes you will find it cheaper to run, 28 - 32 mpg on average with the V6, even with a heavy right foot this should be achieveable. Plus it will be easier to work on, and mostly Ford parts, plus a few randomly chosen other donors.
I have had mine 18 months now and with the support on this site, from those who know, anything that needs looking at or doing, someone will have a good idea or guide to a specialist, for the job to help you.
The price looks very reasonable as well, good colour combination and definately worth a look.

I was averaging ~30 in my S1 and that's now dropped to ~17 in the Chim.

I'm not sure the S is that much easier to work on though, the Chim is a venerable old Rover V8 with lots of Rover/Ford Parts too.

It's harder to make space in the engine bay on the Chim though and I prefered the way the bonnet opened on the S but they're both reasonably simple cars.

They are two completely different cars though so it does depend on what you're planning on using them for...

IMHO you can't go wrong with an S, they represent phenominal value for money and are huge fun.

Yes, go with the S, for the money they can't be bettered. Be patient and one will turn up.

Better value, better looks and better handling. ... And if you don't play golf then it's a no-brainer.

Plus everyone is much nicer... And it is faster because S Drivers are inherently faster even with smaller engines ...
