All,

As I'm about to upgrade the Griffith's brakes to Tuscan calipers, can I ask what option are available fo rfast road pads.

I'm a real Pagid fan, are they available for the Tuscan caliper ??

I understand they are AP originally, what are their pads like ??

Any recommendations welcomed.

Cheers

Mark

It all depends which caliper you have of course .. for the early AP calipers fitted to tuscans and cerberas there's lots of choice .. for the later *eared* pads there's very little choice ..

Joolz,

Can you tell from a picture ... ???

I've met Hans a few times, and I know what his car's are like, . So given he's coming to see friends of mine next month seems like an ideal opportunity.

Are these the earlier or later 'ear' types. Given that I can see 'ears' I'm not confident !

Cheers Joolz, they are coming with pads, although standard and I was wondering what the options would be available .... and it doesn't sound promising.

I'll run with the standard pads to start with and see how I get. I didn't use to suffer that much fade with hot pads and standard calipers in The Griffith at Dongington, so the sheer size increase should assist significantly.

Thanks for the help.

yeh on pad choice it's very much a backwrd step in caliper terms, you'd have been much better off with the earlier caliper, but they look great

It is a shame to e so restricted, however I shall remain hopeful that Pagid decide to grace my calipers with suitable pads.

As for SBS, I though they were mainly bike pads rather than car's ?

Whilst I have your attention could I ask you one last question .... I am about to get my new Nitron and looking at the spring collars they are a quite unusual shape and want to know that a standard adjustable 'C' spanner will change them without damaging them or me in the process ?

you just need to file the corners off the square section on the C spanner, and it'll go in no probs.

SBS .. not being into bikes i know nothing of their heritage, just that they make damn fine car pads (tho expensive, boo!)

What about this on the T350 Forum?

I was looking for new pads because the car was starting to pull to the O/S at high speed. I found that the Pads were starting to break up due to heat from track day use. The ones now fitted are from a Seat Cupra R, £15 +vat, TVR £150. The £15 have been on now for 3 track days and are working perfect. And the milage is now 10k.

!"£$%£"""££$£$&&* !! you are joking me ! from a seat cupra ? well.. if they fit fair enough ! How did you find out they would fit ?

Mine is the RR with drilled bolted on discs and calipers the size of my head, so I think they will be a bit bigger than cupra ones, but you're right would be good to find out what kind of standard part they are.

For the Cupra R also would you beleive a Clio Sport?

A comment from a brake linings engineer would be helpful.
