Not sure that really matters, does it, it's "just" paperwork? If anyone is that fussed they can drop them onto a 2001 personal plate easily.

I'm out of the loop living in France, but I was thinking more of emissions and road tax etc. which IIRC, will affect the running costs.

How much would those have been "at the time" and what does that convert into now?

These have been on the market for quite some time now, Lowdrag. Some people in the TVR community have raised questions over the almost 'bitsa' like appearance of them. And they do seem to have a very varied mix of details from different periods of Chimaera production.

Others explain this as being export specification for the time. Either way, not for me, they just don't feel right...

According to the current issue of Classic Car Weekly, "TVR collectors are scrambling" for these two - not for the last year they have been for sale they haven't!

I believe that they were built by the by the Malaysian factory which only ever had the original moulds, hence the early style rear lamps etc.

Not sure how much a Chimp 400 would have been, but the Waaaaaaay prettier Griff 500 was £39,750 in April 1998. Aprox another £1,500 more if Full leather and Pearlescent paint were specified.

I know of a very nice, low miles Starmist blue Chimp 400 if anyone fancies one ?

Fastest depreciating Chimaera ever , as soon as you use it watch the price drop quicker than the fuel gauge. A nice one with some miles on it would be better
