Terrible news to wake up to - a lady competitor on the Peking Paris was killed in a head on smash yesterday while in Siberia. The Chevy C10 was hit by a VW Polo killing the male driver and his baby daughter, his wife in intensive care.

Looks like the driver of the Polo fell asleep at the wheel and came out of his lane and hit Emma's truck head on.

Bloody hell, I met Emma not so long ago, a cracking and beautiful lady with a real sense of adventure.

Very unfortunate. Their pick up was the sort of thing I'd like to have entered in.

Looks like a straight forward smash.

ERA/Philip Young is going to great lengths to say they were on a transit section, not against the clock. Understandable I guess from their perspective.

Poor woman and family.

I've just heard this news on the radio so it's obviously pretty major. Absolutely awful news and I hate to think what would have happened if it was one of the vintage cars. There probably wouldn't be any survivors. Condolences to the family.
