I know of the mostly 2009 PCM3 997 GT2s, but wanted to ask if the 997 GT2 was ever made from the factory with a 997.2 facelift exterior, including new style LED lights, and centrelock wheels?

Does anyone know of such a car?

Correct.

For the 997GT2 the .2 body add ons are GT2RS bits, not invasive at all. The centre locks are a bit more work. All lots of dough (rear bumper kit with lights is nearly 4K Euro + VAT)

Interesting, and also what I thought until I saw this:

This is a GT2 for sale at OPC (not in UK). Says it was registered in 2011, I may give them a call to enquire further about it. Has 997.2 LED lights, centrelocks, not sure if the sideskirts and rear valence are standard either (I've not seen that painted rear valance before).

Any thoughts?

Painted valence indicates stuck on after, the bumper doesn't come with the bottom bit black. The GT2RS also has the bottom bit of the sill painted black

Pretty sure that wasn't done at the factory, quite a few 997GT2's have these .2RS add ons now, they look awesome IMO

Edit, also a give away (probably) is the parking sensors, the GT2RS bumper comes without the holes for these, there is only one part number, it is very unlikely Porsche had someone on the factory production line drilling these out hehe

nerd the car in the first pics is wearing Dunlop Direzzas on that front pic, these are cheapo tyres rated at W 168mph, a little bit worrying on a 204mph car

Not sure whether the parking sensor or st tyre spot is the best!

I'll dig around some more on this car, but:

-Its for sale at OPC - they wouldn't sell an externally modified car, I'm 100% sure the parking sensors are done at factory - I'm thinking this could be a porsche exclusive car - they will do all the above and more surely?
-the car has done 277km. 173 miles. It's basically brand new, I'm not sure it's even been registered before. They tyres would have come from the factory surely?

Interesting.........

Also curious is the interior colour....never seen a variant to Black on the GT3/GT2

For the bearded brigage: Appreciate GT2RS had Black/Red as an option...but that was with red inserted as an accent/contrast...not full or what appears to be bi-colour leather as this GT2 shows

Yes, here's how it looks:

Big spec on this car (lots of carbon), even says drivers seat memory? Thats not an option on GT cars is it?

Did not think so...nor for that matter the "multimedia" steering wheel..

What every hot shoe needs as they pilot the 'Ring....

Or take a phone call, it has the handset phone prep (look to right of PCM).

Someone obviously went to town on this car! How much would all this lot set one back on a new GT2 purchase roughly? As in how much would that have been to buy new?

you may be right, I've never been in the (fortunate) position to "commission" Porsche Exclusive but seems entirely feasible that they have built this one off in 2010/2011,

The tyres are another matter, these are really stty cheap tyre only rated to 168mph which is top of 5th gear, no OPC would fit these to a GT2 shirley. And fk knows what they have on the back the Direzza only goes up to 275 in width !

Surprised at an OPC selling the car with non N rated tyres on the front!

yeah, there is no protection bead round the edge so look like probably standard Cups - weird having the stters on the front isn't it, a real mismatch....

Some more details:

Car was ordered by a wealthy local chap (I'm based in the middle east) for his private collection. As such it's not really been driven and is as new.

It was first registered 15/03/2011, but I think it's 2009 model year (GT2s weren't made after 2009 right?).

Porsche have confirmed it was played with by Porsche Exclusive dept, I'm trying to get a full run down of what it's had done. I've not said anything about the tyres, will ask more about that.

In the Chris Harris 991 GT3 review he mentions that there are Michelin and Dunlop tyre options for the car, looks like the Porsche exclusive dept. have put a pair on this car. Quite strange that it's a pair though.

The Dunlops for the new GT3 are their MPSC equivalents not these crappy ones - someone else has put these on, and in the mid east without rain, very puzzling

My 997.1 GT2 July 2008 has the Carbon Multimedia Steering Wheel, and heated driver and passenger memory seats, original bill of sale for car was £160k though.... it's very well spec'd.
