New Porsche Colours - Rhodium Silver and Sapphire Blue ?

Anyone seen these colours?

The configurator colours aren't reliable - but these two colours look quite stunning on some of the PR images of the new GT3 and Turbo, although these pics will have been digitally enhanced.

Is 'Rhodium' just another silver?

And, is 'Sapphire' really this good? -

From what I've seen (online pics, not in the flesh), Sapphire Blue is similar to the old Aqua (?) blue, and is an inoffensive blue metallic colour which is nice enough but not stunning (in my opinion).

Your picture above appears to show more of a brighter solid colour (which I think looks really good) but I'm not sure this is that close to Sapphire in the real world.

Happy to be proven wrong though - if it was "that good" I would be ordering it instead of Agate grey!!

Rhodium silver appears a nice enough variation on silver (assuming people need another variation on silver...)!!

I did see a sapphire blue sample piece in Geneva, and would have to agree it appeared an aqua blue type metallic colour, although possibly a bit lighter.

This appears to be a "non doctored" Sapphire Blue - much more of an "electric" blue than aqua - rather pretty actually!

looks similiar to BMW Estoril Blue.

Slightly off topic ( but with regards to colours), with PTS is it possible to have a paint that was originally from another manufacturer?

I'm thinking of Diablo red which was a Peugeot colour, and still one of my favourite hues (had it on my 106GTi and is a pearlescent finish) - I think a 981 Cayman or Boxster would look fabulous.

You can have any color you want as long as you provide the paint code and it gets approved after up to 6 months in the testing lab.

That's buggered then.

That colour seemed to fade after one week.
But that might just be because Peugeot painted it.

OPC's have metal paint samples as part of their spec displays.

Sapphire blue is a light metallic blue ala Estoril from the BMW range.

TBH it looks a bit washed out or aneamic against Aqua which really pops out in the sunlight

In isolation I think it looks good but Aqua is better when you put them side by side

You might find it under a different model in the current range but its the same colour. I had it in my hands today and clearly stated sapphire blue on the back

The paint codes can be supplied by the paint manufacturer for Porsche via OPC bodyshop. I have both of the samples painted. The picture attached shows Aqua Blue on the left and Sapphire Blue on the right. I will try to get you a picture of Platinum Silver next to Rhodium Silver
