For many years something has always clashed with this event so never been.

This year I have the opportunity of going on the Sunday. Can anyone tell me how this show would compare to the one at RAF Leuchars? That's the only other air show I have attended just two years ago besides Finningley as a child.

I was also thinking of going on the motorbike, does anyone else go on the bike?

I haven't done waddington but the traffic was a well reported nightmare so taking the bike seems the best idea.

Having been to both I would recommend Waddy. Better selection of AC and more certainty around the weather. Traffic wasnt horrendous althoug the local chippy was nowhere near as good as the one in Crail!

Does anyone know of any WW2 Luftwaffe experts who'll be there on Saturday?

Im going with the good lady on the Sunday in the silverwings enclosure so hopefully traffic will be slightly better. Hoping for clear skies as my first real airshow, ive been to Farnborough numerous times but only on trade days so not much flying.

Me and a friend are going on the bikes this year. (Look out for a PH sticker on the back of my helmet as I pass you in the queue biggrin )

Our wives are going in the car. Interesting to see how much quicker we get in if we set off at the same time.

Really looking forward to the show this time. I missed last year. Giddy for XH558 already.

Yes, but if you are passing a Morrisons supermarket they sell them at the advance price from the Customer Services desk. I got mine from one yesterday.

You can buy them from HSBC branches as well.

There's a list of Morrisons and HSBC brances selling tickets here:

We have had tickets for weeks now and will be camping Friday through to Sunday; the kids will love both the fresh air and the planes, our 2 year old is already planning her future as one of the red arrows.

Specific information about a particular crew who were shot down and captured. What happened to them? What was their intended target? How were they vectored onto target (Knickebein?)? How many aircraft were involved in the raid etc?

On a more general level, simply an accurate explanation of Luftwaffe markings would help (ie xx + xx).

I have my work cut out!
