I know what you mean.

I thought the swapping of S13 flip-up lights for the S15 headlights was cool though!

Semi-Cool !?!??

don't like the paint, but the body looks pretty good, with the exception of that wing

Danboy.. ever considered an S15 instead of a rex ??

I have. keep coming to the same conclusion though.. it's definately more sensible (reliability, fuel costs etc), and probably just as capable.. but it just isn't special like a rex.... just my 2c.

Yep!

I would love one...

Rare as rocking horse doo-doo though. Fast too - Insurance nightmare, probably as bad as the Rex!!! Also, they're rather expensive to buy.

No why would he want to do that?

having said that, there were no fewer than 3 really nice ones for sale in JapPerf Mag this month!!

agree though.. usually VERY hard to find, and as you said, they seem to start at ~£13k where you can usually get a decent rex for £10k

I've noticed a few companies recently doing S14 engine transplants into S13 200SX's for reasonable money. EVO magazine have a new project car along similar lines, built for less than £6K including a Tein suspesion kit and a bit of tuning, according to the article

which brings the question:

if you're going to go to the trouble of swapping engine/transmission/brakes/diff etc, why go for the S13 in the first place??

the S14's seem to do very well in the drift comps anyway.. so why do people prefer the S13 ??

There's some guy driving around Surrey with an S13 with an S15 front, in a golden/yellow colour. looks quite stunning.

a couple of sr20 engines would fetch a fair price a few days before Race Wars

IMHO S13s are better looking. A lot of people would like the stealth aspect of a pretty standard looking S13 with about 300bhp.

They seem-to me-very moldable in the styling dept, you can leave it standard looking & it still looks pretty good.Or go mad & it'll adapt pretty well.
They're very tunable for reasonable money. At a R.R. day this year there was an s13 made just over 400bhp-the manifolds were glowing bright, bright red after-couple'a months ago,I heard the clutch made a bid for freedom & escaped thru the box(much knackeredness)bit extreme for me,but can be done.

Shit!

That is rather nice. YOu could probably build that with about 350bhp for £12K as well
