Oh no I think I have the classic car bug again!!

Around 2 years ago I finally parted company with my last classic, a 1967 Triumph Vitesse Convertible. I thought that I had lost interest & that it required much less effort just having the MX-5, a turn the key, wash & go classic! Prior to the Vitesse I had always owned a Triumph of some sort for 15 years and was well into the classic scene and off camping with the TSSC club, enjoying weekends away & runs out on Sundays.
Thing is, I think I have the bug again....I miss those Sundays & weekends away & tinkering with a piece of British machinery. I have been scouring ebay etc & the classifieds and have saved up enough spare cash again to buy maybe not just 1 classic but 2!! I feel that a purchase is imminent, I have my eye on several cars that interest Me! If this happens, my trusty 24 year old MX5 will have to go which will be hard!
Someone tell Me I am mad......or are you right behind Me??
Oh yes, its not just a passing interest either.....the bug really is back!!
I blame the fact that I have just turned 40!
My old boss told Me that when you turn 40, you will either :
1) Learn to play the guitar
2) Buy a motorbike
3) Run off with another woman
I reckon buying another classic is a far safer bet!!!!

you want a car that will reliably get you to a pub !
having the MX5 you've probably got used to the turn key reliability and lack of more frequent servicing, maintenance and repairs - don't worry you'll soon recall it if you don't keep on top of your chosen classic
I'd check first how many classic owners have given up on using their cars or going away for weekends as it seems to me (and I could well be wrong) that only the youngsters attempt to use their classics (through the breakdowns because they didn't realise there was sooooooo much to keeping them on the road)
luckily some parts for classics have improved in quality but balanced out by others that are now abysmal quality
go enjoy, you've sampled both sides you'll soon get the hang of it again

Heh heh, I turn 40 in August and have recently started playing the drums and my motorcycle resto should be finished by then too. Only the other woman to go then!I blame the fact that I have just turned 40!
