Adjusting stem height

Hi,

I recently purchased the Voodoo Hoodoo http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/category/bikes/m...

I am 6ft6 and I have adjusted the seat to a comfortable height. However, I feel the handlebars are now too low and I get some discomfort in my shoulders where I lean forward too much.

I have tried to adjust the height but they look fixed.. anybody recommend anything?

It may be that there is no free space on the steerer tube. Do you have a picture?

Extenders are available so all is not lost.

Or replace the stem with one with a less 'flat' angle (ie: one which points upward a lot more)? Probably set you back £25 - £30 ish at a guess?

Are you sure it's because the bars are too low? As they could be too far away.

In which case, you may want to consider a shorter stem, combined with a set of riser handle bars. You can adjust the handle bars until you are comfortable.

Might be worth popping to your LBS and getting it set up properly?
