Alfa romeo GT - thoughts on these please?
Discussion
Am thinking of getting a GT, auto trader has thrown up these to locally, which is appealing, as I'm lazy :-)
Do they seem fairly priced? Don't mind paying a little for convenience, but obviously not way over book.

Not seen either yet, but thinking of calling in on way home from work
Thanks,

Also, listen out for creaking / knocking front suspension. - Creaking could be upper or lower arms, knocking from lower down could be drop links or ARB (although ARB bushes can also squeak a little), and tailgates are prone to squeaking and rattling - not serious but very irritating!
I've owned my Blackline JTDm for just over a year, and apart from one drop link and a couple of upper arms, it's been great! Quite fancy a Brera S Prodrive though...

I bought a 2008 Blackline diesel a couple of weeks ago as a daily hack - getting mid 40s mpg and plenty of comfort and refinement. - very impressed for such a cheap car
It's done over 150k, but it drives very well - had the cambelt and water pump changed straight away along with a full service and an mot, but it still stands me for less than £5k
Stylish, individual and practical motoring for peanuts
Plenty of tech knowledge on AlfaOwner forums

Looking to buy one of these out in Austria as my first car out here. Few questions..
2.0JTS engine, do you hear much noise or droning on the motorway?
The one I'm looking at is a dark metallic red, it's a 2006 model and I hear often about poor red paint work on pre 2007 alfas.
This one has a few front end stone chips but overall looks okay.
Can you attach a roof rack? For the ski season I want to be able to take boards etc, there is the possibility to slide them through the boot and centre seat.
Any other known 2.0 JTS issues?

Thread revival, considering a 1.9 JTDm Blackline. I understrandc these don't have a DPF but they do have swirl flaps. Should I be worried about these at all? Can they be deleted like BMWs?
Also, do any of the trim levels have heated seats?
I have the "Winter Pack" which includes heated seats....not sure about trim level specifically. Also, do any of the trim levels have heated seats?

I noticed after approx 200miles after driving away from the dealer I now have creaking front suspension. It only gets driven at the weekend as I commute to work on the train. I have 6months warranty from the dealer so this "should" be covered! If not, how big of a job?I've owned my Blackline JTDm for just over a year, and apart from one drop link and a couple of upper arms, it's been great! Quite fancy a Brera S Prodrive though...

I had mine done at the main dealers but at separate times - top arms were £150 fitted per side, lower arms were £250 fitted per side. I previously used a reputable indy specialist, but the upper arms they used were rubbish (and they tried to charge me for genuine parts + their labour was more than the main dealers!).If the creaking sounds like its coming from behind the dash, it's likely to be uppers. Creaking lower down is probably lowers, or ARB bushes. Mine wasn't covered by the dealer warranty.
