La Sufrida - "The Suffering"

I took part in my first cycle race in ages this weekend in the South of Spain.

It's called "La Sufrida" which means "The Suffering". I did the short 128km course which includes about 3105m of climb and is utterly tortuous!

I managed it in 5:34:51 so very pleased and came 150 out of 205 overall.

I've already signed up for it again next year but plan to do the longer 195km course so I guess I'd best start training hard!

If anyone wants to take part, it's well worth the trip over. The scenery is just stunning and the participants are a great bunch. Everyone is very friendly and very willing to help each other.

Yeah, they bumped it up a bit this year. About 79 miles so almost the same distance but this year it was just over 11,500 ft of climbing.

I believe the 195km route has about 15,000 ft of climbing. I'll tell you all about it next year if I make it!
