Hi all, after a recommendation.

My TVR S3 currently won't start, I had the RAC out yesterday and he eventually got it going but couldn't diagnose why it was playing up (its a Ford Cologne 2.9 V6 by the way, fuel injected, same as Sierra, Granada/Scorpio) he didn't say it but I could tell he wanted to say its a TVR what do you expect smile. Anyway, all the obvious things have been checked, it is getting fuel it has a spark etc and it is turning over, just wont fire up so I am thinking of getting a mobile mechanic out but have never used one before and would prefer a recommendation.

Thanks for reading, look forward to responses

Not a proper recommendation (because I haven't actually used him yet myself smile), but I was thinking of trying this guy based in Bournemouth next time my E46 needs servicing:

An impressive set of reviews, and a diverse range of motors being worked on in his photo gallery. If anyone on PH has used him, and has any feedback, I'd be glad to hear...

Does sound good, well spotted, I am going to disconnect the battery to see if that re-sets the ECU and if that desnt work I will give him a call, I may also get him to do my E46 as Woods are just too expensive now for a car 10 years old!

If you do get him to come out, could you let us know how it goes? I'm looking at getting my E46 serviced in July. It was 11 years old this year, and hasn't been near a main dealer for some time judging by the service history. An Inspection II at Woods could probably end up costing a quarter of the value of the vehicle smile

Couldn't do anything for the TVR as too old and doesn't have the diagnostics, but got in touch very quickly to explain why he couldn't seemed a decent chap

Thanks for the feedback. Miles is servicing our E91 3 series next week (which has suddenly decided it needs oil service, brake fluid change and spark plugs... all at once, thank you condition based servicing).

If anyone is interested, I'll feed back on how it goes...
