Anyone bought a Wyndy Milla??

Hi Guys

Has anyone bought a Wyndy Milla??

I am really interested in thier Massive Attack and basically want to know if 3000 - 3500 will get me a good spec and a nicely finished bike!!

If any of you do have one (Any model)what sort of money and spec are we talking about for the bespoke look?

I think you might need a bigger budget the stock frameset (frame and forks) is £2300, and then paint options are extra on top. Very nice bikes, don't own one, but come the day the numbers all match ....

Its Alu but the Beastie Boy got a very good write up in a copy of Cyclist recently, if you want it I'll send you the mag.

But I am after a Carbon Fibre Massive Attack - to be honest I am beginning to feel like that Ford owner who wants to own a Ferrari but will have to make do with a TVR!!

I know how you feel; I'd love a fully-pimped Specialized S-Works, but my budget would only stretch to a Planet X TT! I still took a great deal of pleasure in my first tri outing with it passing a couple of S-Works and BMC top-spec bikes at pace. I don't think I would swap it now.

Nothing wrong with Ferrari performance at TVR price! (Says the TVR owner!)

I was looking at a WM last year, eventually went for a Ti Dedacciai in part because of the cost, in part because it was a 40th birthday present and my wife wanted to buy me a 'keeper', something I can wobble to the papershop and back on when (if) I retire......

My experience of WM was excellent, very helpful, very knowledgeable and willing to let me take the bosses massive attack out for a ride - which was nice!

The bikes themselves are extremely well finished, but they are hand built built by Sarto in Italy who build many, many frames for the professional peleton who re-badge them as another manufacturer! Having seen a number of their frames 'naked' I would be surprised if the one mentioned in the above post with poor quality finish under the paint was a WM/Sarto.

They have a bit of a cult following and I always felt that I would be paying a premium for the 'exclusivity' of the paintwork, but the build quality on the bikes I looked at was second to none.

I am sure that there are better value high end bikes on the market, but if I had the money I would buy one.....

This was a view of a top end Custom Paint shop, there was photo evidence to support.

'Considering WyndyMillar bikes are 'custom bespoke' specials, they look so cheap and nasty. Three and a half grand for a stickered mess.

Just passing comment as the OP was asking for feedback. Just good to have all the opinions out there before spending so much on a frame.

Well up close they are far from 'a stickered mess' unless the three I have seen are 'specials'

I've heard that about ever "man in a shed with a glue gun" outfit going! And it's just plain wrong. If a rider needs a custom (as far as UCI approval goes WRT racing vs. selling) frame, the manufacturers/sponsors make it themselves. They're not silly...

Bit late to the party I know but I've owned a lightning seed and now a massive stock and love them both, the later I got a custom paint job on so the paint opinions are really irrelevant but FYI a lightning seed can fit in the back of a TVR T350

I'd go to the shop just to catch a glimpse of Nasima (the 'Milla' half of WyndyMilla).



The bikes are lovely, too. I've always had to look at the ex-team bikes, though, as I couldn't afford a brand new one. In the past they've supplied TeamUKYouth, and the MGMaxifuel womens teams, and the ex-Hannah Barnes Bog Warrior MTB they were selling was a particular beauty that I, unfortunately, didn't have funds for until it was too late and it had already been sold...

A mate of mine has one, it's a s/m frame size, massive attack ex team bike I believe it's around 9 months old. It's Jamie Scott's old bike. Great looking bike and rides really well, he is currently looking to sell it because he's old and not bendy enough to ride it (sorry Matt if you read this, couldn't resist), either as just a frame set or a complete bike.
