Hi Folks,

As per title this is my first post on here.
Bought an S2 last week, needs tidying.
Been looked after, good provenance, not too rotten (white?) Chassis etc.

I'll be slowly working through all the things that need sorting out.
The big stuff will have to wait for the winter as I want some miles in the summer.
Starting off with little jobs to familiarize with it.
Some questions, hopefully not too boring;
Is the 1999 bible up to date or do I need a more recent copy?
Oil and filters sorted from previous posts but which plugs? Bible says Champion: Me not keen.
Red antifreeze diluted 50/50 ok? I'm fussy about coolant (Stag and Tr7 owner)

Thanks for looking, I look forward to your thoughts..

Alan

Hi, good choice of car, wise idea getting away from them old Triumphs smile

NGK are a popular choice for plugs, can't recall the number an d all my "stuff/info" is at home. Think NGK have a pretty good application website (might have to search under 2.9 Granada, TVR may not be listed) and you'll need to know whether taper seat or washer sealed?

50/50 sounds a bit strong, I use 30/70 because anti-freeze is less efficient at heat transfer than water so while you obviously want enough too much is not good.

ETA found the NGK site, BCPR6E is what you want, or BPR6EF if you have taper seat plugs but I think they were only used on catalyst engines?

Welcome Alan. Why not post up your location on the map and you may find some helpful 'S' owners near by.

Thanks Mike,

I've been out and bought some but might wait until after dark to put 'em in, don't want to waste the sunshine.

I'm on the map, that was the first thing I did.

More questions later, many thanks

Welcome Alan, great taste and choice of car. What area are you in, if you want a meet checkout the S event list at the top of the S post board. Many of us get to the Shelsley Walsh Breakfasts, if you are anywhere near the midlands.

North Leicester so Shelsley might be a bit of a schlep,
but I'll have a look at the meets list Dave has sent and see which ones I can get to.
Hopefully see some of the people on here soon
