Summer base layers

I have been on my first ride without a winter layer under my PH jersey and my right nipple is red raw!

Is there such a thing as a light summer base layer to protect my nips?

Bib shorts seem to be the usual solution.

I get cracked nip too. Sudecrem and Elastoplast is your friend.

I was dubious about summer base layers but bought a Craft cool mesh sleeveless top and was astonished how cool it keeps you so bought a couple more.

And when you've finished your ride you can sit and drink Stella without getting changed.

The straps on my bib shorts sit to starboard of the nipple slowing the jersey to rub.

Elastoplasts are not an option due to hair.

My bike is Belgian too so Stella is appropriate in the bottle cages.

I can vouch for these as I have a couple and I've not experienced any chafing so far.

I use Merino all year round. Magical stuff. Keeps you warm when it's cold and cool when it's warm, and you use the same top two days on the bounce and it refuses to stink.
