Summer nationals
Discussion
I’m looking forward to the Summer Nationals, I have never been to one before (I have been to the Main Event/Finals over the past four years), I have booked in to race (Sportsman ET) though rather than spectate, hopefully the crew and myself will get to watch some of the bigger classes whilst waiting to be called

Looks a good entry, although seems offering double prize money to our racers still doesn't get extra racers in, ho hum
In my experience, ten times the prize money would not put a dent into the outlay needed to run Super-Pro. I've always been convinced that ET racing offers a level playing field to everyone, it is scrupulously fair, the format enables people to run their dream car (funny car in Super pro for example) and enjoy themselves immensely even though they may not be so competitive and, finally, it offers scope for competitors to learn, practice and use the real personal and engineering skills necessary to go to the late rounds. Despite all that, the best can be downed by the newbie at any time. With the support of the clubs and the tracks, that's all you need to get racers to come and play. As you can see, I'm a big fan.

Aha! I usually go to entry lists via the Event Coverage page links via Eurodragster, which isn't yet available - thanks for the shortcut.Looking good for a national event. A full field of fuel altereds would be the mutts.

Such a shame it always clashes with the Nostalgia Nationals...
Does it? That's sad. I guess the two tracks cooperate pretty well, certainly better than in the early 90's when the exact opposite was true, but I guess they can't always avoid clashes.Unfortunately several events a year clash between SPR, SCR and York.
Wether or not it affects the number of entries is probably more a matter of team budgets, though I do sometimes feel a bit of discretion would help all tracks in spectator attendances.

A few years ago it didn't clash, the Summer Nationals was the mid-to-late june and then the Nostalgias were the weekend after. This was back when the NFAA had both rounds on their calendar. It's a shame I have to choose which to race at because both races are great. We are entering the Summer Nationals this year as we had such a successful Easter weekend. The rest of the entry list looks really healthy too, which is great to see! I'm hoping another car or two joins us in the NFAA to make it at least a 5 car field. We really struggle to get numbers up so it would be good to see.
This will be the first time i'll be able to take the altered out on the new surface when it has a bit of heat on it! That i'm really looking forward to!

As Joe said they never used to clash, shame but a championship round at the pod always wins for me.
All being well we'll be there! Still waiting for the block to come back from repair though, new body, new look, fresh motor. Hoping to really chase down the 6s!
What bodies on her this time? I rather liked the 23t!All being well we'll be there! Still waiting for the block to come back from repair though, new body, new look, fresh motor. Hoping to really chase down the 6s!
Have to wait and see for the new body
I don't dislike the T but it was only ever done as a temporary thing and had to be cut/glasses around a lot to make it fit, the overall look is good but it's not a long term body. It was built in 8 days and painted in my mates garage so we didn't miss Dragstalgia
and it'll still be seen again, for flame burnouts.
