I'm hunting for the best oil for my 951.

The car has been off the road for a few years and had Mobil 0w40 in it last.

A few people have suggested 10w40 semi, I found Mobil Super 2000 x1 10w40 but it seems to only have 850 ppm Zddp. Fuchs do a couple but also struggling to see a Zddp level on them.

I also see Shell 5w40 Helix Ultra but can't find a zddp level on it and a few people report poor oil pressure.

Don't want to go for a very expensive oil as will need to do another drop in a few thousand miles but the engine is only 70k miles and want good protection.

Any ideas?

I have no idea what zddp is but I had Mobil 1 15/50 Motorsport put in my 2.5 track car and the same in a friend's 944 Turbo, which was re-mapped to 275bhp (although easily capable of 300), both ran perfectly with no issues.

0W40 eek, depends how much you're prepared to spend. I use Millers CFS 10w50 triple ester PAO. I believe it has reasonable ZDDP content. I think there's a Valvolene blend that has quite high ZDDP too.

Not long had by 944T, so I guess I should pay attention to this.

I would suggest one of the Millers oils, British company that do some very good oils, they do a decent 10W40 semi, or the CFS range for better protection. I wouldn't go lower than a 5W40 or higher than 10W50.

Have a look at Royal Purple oils. They seem pretty keen on ZDDP.

This what Promax use and I imagine they'd chose carefully. Certainly mine seems to run just fine.

Miller's CFS 10-50 NT. Miller's Nanotechnology is being used by one or two F1 teams.
Alternatively, Motul 300V 15-50 would be my second choice.

Too much ZDDP can have undesirable consequences - so there's a balance to be struck here.
