On a recent visit to the Friends of the earth website, I decided to subscribe to their newsletter service in order to be kept up-to-date on important campaign news.
This arrived today:

"Dear supporter,

**Stop Train Robbery**
Thanks very much to all of you who took part in our Stop Train Robbery
action. More than 5,000 of you emailed and texted the Treasury. The
results of the Treasury's spending review are about to be announced -
and there are worrying signs that the railways won't get the money they
need. This is your last chance to speak out for a better railway, please
take action today!

Both the CBI and the Parlimentary Select Committee for Transport want
the railways to get more money. But it doesn't look like Gordon is listening...

Send Gordon a reminder now:

All the best,

Alex Phillips
Transport Campaign Assistant
Friends of the Earth

1 July 2002"

The link takes you to a very handy way to give Gordon Brown your views as to where transport money should be spent...........

Good idea - the more freight and commuter traffic we can get off the roads and into trains the better.
