S F shields are for competition cars. Putting them on road cars is pretentious beyond belief and shows no understanding of Ferrari.
You may be correct however some members say the shields are a must on the 360, especially on red cars. 360 looks too long and needs the shields to break it up a little.
I'm afraid Ferrari is no longer about what you seem to think it is fellas. Quite a few cars have them fitted as standard that were not designed/intended for competition.
If you like them, fit them. But be warned that the official ones are sunk into the wing.
I'll PM you some info on where you can get them for sensible prices.

This is interesting, I had no idea that they were originally intended for competition cars. Where can I learn more about this?

The Scuderia is the factory racing team. Their emblem is the yellow shield with the horse and SF on it, SF standing for Scuderia Ferrari. Here is a brief history: [url}http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/john_hopkinson/Ferrari.htm[/url]
So the shield belongs on the side of the F1 car, not on customer road cars. The prancing horse that appears everywhere on a standard production Ferrari does not have SF on it.
To me the Scuderia shields belong only on Scuderia cars, if you put them on customer road cars you might as well put them on Kias and Hyundais.
Cobblers, I like the look of them, they were on the factory options list, so I had them.
Presumably you take the same view on "Challenge" grills?
The were designed for the Challenge cars so anyone putting them on a road car, even though they are a factory option, is wrong???
If Ferrari didn't want you to fit them they wouldn't offer them.
To answer the original question, as has been mentioned they are quite a think enamel curved badge, sunk into a recess in the wing. Not easy to retrofit as it requires panelbeating and re-painting by someone skillful.
Stick on ones as seen on 355s are available though.

totally agree.
They look superb frankly.
There are two guys in the US that can get hold of them - one does std. shields, either bolt through or adhesive backed, another does half thickness ones that are adhesive backed and should look OK without the wing recess.
I'll be getting a set of both, but currently have the latter. Sadly I have yet to fit them as I'm over 6k miles away from the car.
BTW, I agree with Bertie.
Incidentally, Ferrari fitted them as standard to F40s, F50s, Enzos, Challenge Stradales etc as I understand it. Not all of which were raced by the Scuderia.

I like the shields on most cars - can't be bothered with all the snobbery - it's not the same as fitting stuff from Halfords. If I drive a Ferrari, why should I need to have an appreciation of the marque, it's a car, albeit a very good one from a company with a fabulous history in making racing cars.
Next people will be saying that everyone should have Rosso whatever it is - the colour that looks like Rosso Corsa on the TV, as Rosso Corsa doesn't look right... or something...

Get over it, pretentious we are not. People who know what we like... we are.
if we were so concerned about heritage and authenticity, 99% of us shouldn't buy Ferrari anyway, given we don't have the racing pedigree nor heritage to 'carry on the marques tradition'
Shields are a Must on a Rosso 360 IMHO.
