I have updated my (IT related) CV and plan to get it sent out asap to as many recruiters as possible. However, it is going to be reviewed and possibly amended by a CV writer next week.

Does anyone know what will happen when an agency receives a second cv from the same person?

Would it be a problem to send a second one out at the end of next week and will it just into their database alongside my current CV or will they look up my name and replace my current CV? Or would this cause some kind of problem that I havent thought of?

I dont really want to waste another couple of weeks waiting for my CV to be amended as there are a lot of jobs coming up that I would like to apply for and just see it that although my CV could be better nothing ventured nothing gained at the moment..

Any thoughts?

Get it out there anyway, as long as its not a single sheet with just your name, address and "Ivanna job" on it.

Any decent recruiter will update with a new version when you send it out, but TBH if your current CV has the pertinent details they can/should work with it anyway.

CVs are a living document so it is expected that there may be regular changes as you gain new qualifications, change address, wish to highlight new competencies and impact or as a result of a change of job/role; your new one simply replaces the old one. Having said that, sending one out very quickly after the first could flummox the less well organised system/recruiter/administrator. If your current CV is way off the mark then waiting for your new one could be an option assuming you won't miss a deadline for that dream job you have spotted. Or find yourself a high quality CV adviser who can turnaround within 24 hours if necessary... wink

Good luck!

I try to say to any RC, "Send me the Job Description and I'll tailor the main points to bring out the relevant parts" Then I date the CV.

I am looking for IT developers, tech support staff plus a number of other high level IT related roles at the moment, what are your skills and where do you live? I am not an agent, I am recruiting directly for my company

I have emailed you Streetrod, just so you are aware, in case the email system is not working again.
