Need help with a valuation / What bike...

Hi,
Been rather out of touch with cycling and have recently got back into it. I've a 2002 (I think) Orange Patriot in 18" that I'm looking to sell (pic below) and I would really appreciate some advice on what it is worth (mods this isn't a for sale thread, hope this is ok)
I'm also looking for a new bike that I can ride up hill / all mountain with the GF but is good for some big hits too. Thinking Cube Hanzz / Transition TR250 / Scott Voltage. Anyone else got any recommendations as there's a lot of new brands on the market now vs 5 years ago! I want a bike that looks appealing to the eye also!

Not sure on the value of your Orange.
In regards to your new bike.. I'd LOVE a TR250, or maybe an SX Trail or Intense UZZI, but those sorts of bikes are really on the outside edge of what you'd call 'climbable' in fact they'd be awful most of the time - depends where you ride and what sort of riding you like to do but IMHO you'd be 'over biked' in most places, I personally, certainly wouldn't choose a bike like that as an 'only bike' - a Covert would be much better and if you haven't tried the latest bread of 6" AM style bikes you'd be amazed at what they can do going downhill.
