Apologies - not exactly 'roads' but - does anyone know a 24hrs petrol station in Calais? I'm arriving quite late and will need to fill up.

Hope this is possible and not that every petrol station will be closed by that time...

Any pointers gratefully received

Google suggests:
http://www.total.fr/stations-service/se-rendre-en-...
and
http://www.carrefour.fr/magasin/coquelles/services...
Might be a good idea to phone for confirmation though.

Thanks a lot Red - good leads. I've also checked out the shell and bp websites. They're surprisingly poorly laid out though

These days is it better to fill up before leaving the country or when you get to France?

If diesel, do it in France, much cheaper, Petrol about the same. As here, keep off the Autoroute to save further.

Theres a total petrol station as you drive off of the tunnel and a carrefore unmanned unit under the car park at cite europe. Both of these I've used early hours of the morning so i assume there 24h.

Actually I managed to make it to Bochum without needing to fill up - I thought for the sake of a small saving (petrol not diesel) and losing time, better to brim it in London.

As an aside I was using v-power as always in UK and I filled up with Aral 102 and predominantly Shell racing 100 when in Germany. Smooth - but no real difference to UK v-power or nitro as they now seem to call it

Thanks all!
