While browsing another site I found this link for Scion, a Toyota company based in the States. It appears you can buy a GT86 equivalent for $25k which is about £16 grand:

http://www.scion.com/cars/FR-S/index.html

It is almost worth buying one and importing it. Bargain, but how can this be?

The American prices are ex-taxes so that's not the OTR price.

Nearly new GT86s are not much more than that price in the UK anyway, so The Market is always correct smile

Plus shipping, import duty and VAT. That's you at 22-23k, barely less than a new UK one. And it'll depreciate faster.

I find I do my curly wurly about 11, dependant on dinner the night before

But seriously, how do you have a curley wurley without chocolate flying everywhere, especially in the key board
