silver500chimp asked me to start a new one.

whats a good stag location?

newquay: beach, all day nightclubs
blackpool: beach stripclubs and fairgrounds
any other suggestions?
NB I am being asked to arrange about 3 stag nights this year as the best men involved dont seem to have the imagination

I have done blackpool many times heres an itinarary:

sat morning : a few fair rides (not all)
walk back to the tower visiting at least 3 strip bars
lunch.
walk back to B+B visiting normal bars.
tea/kip.
eve: dress up, hit yates and surrounding pubs 10pm, half cut: ride pepsi max.
go to a club, chase hen parties. curry

sunday: 7am breakfast, forfits for failure to attend
beach fun/ footy /ride a donkey

lunch, back to yates, packed with fancy dress parties.
drink all day, go see chubby brown on the pier at 7pm, leave, clubbing again
monday morn visit TVR factory, go home.

not over exciting as stag nights go, but its always the cost that keeps the choices down.

any one else got good ideas? also looking for a list of forfits, any recomendations?
starting point:
groom is dressed as sherlock holmes
bestman has hat of forfits.
during evening, groom does them, except if a member of the party fails to call him sherlock, then they must carry out the forfit.

get a girls phone number written in lipstick on your chest.
drink pint in one (wouldnt be a stag night without it...)
get a girl to give you her knickers/bra
dance in the DJ box with no pants on.
....

i have do organise one for my brother, wedding 1st march 2003. No idea what to do but it has to be affordable! i was thinking of renting a cottage in the middle of nowhere and fitting it out with a load of toys before everyone gets there, hes not the type that would want to wander round streets of blackpool bearing his arse to the kebab shop owners.......

Quality venues for recent stags I've been on...

Edinburgh...during August it's the festival

Le Mans...you've got just under a year to wait, but an excellent weekend of beer and cars

Tallinn - the chocolate box capital of Estonia...cool bars and you can go into the woods and shoot ex-soviet firearms during the day

Leeds - make sure you visit the Purple Door

and one for later this year...Las Vegas

Have also heard good things about Barcelona etc...

I've just come back from a Stag Do in Bournemouth and would definitely recommend it.
Loads of bars, loads of Hen Nights around and 3 Lap Dancing bars (we went to FYEO!).
And I think someone said there's a beach?
Cheers..... Andrew

Forgot about that yep, I'd heartily reccommend Leeds.. good bars and clubs, and friendly girls, we were literally picking up women in the street (not not street-women before carzee starts) ..

Cheers,
Matt.

Newcastle is a good one. Loads of bars along the redeveloped Quayside. Loads of other stag and hen parties out and about so no trouble getting into anywhere. Plus there are big Travel Lodge/Travel Inn type places on the quayside too, so not too far to stagger home.

An you can go down the "Bigmarket" for a fight too ! Newcastle lads don't seem to like it if you come on to "their" women much... IMHO...

Heard good things about Dublin. My mate arrived at Bonno's club and a local lass wrapped her legs around him, demonstrating her lack of knickers; "Evening".

Brighton's good for a bash, lots of loose women!!

I had my stag do in London (mainly around West end), but in retrospect, Brighton would have been a better choice. A college of mine had his there, totally made do.

On the subject of forfits the simple ones are always the best - because you will remember to do them even if you are very drunk!

1. Golf ball in the pint - the person with the golf ball dropped in their pint without them noticing has to down their pint. If the "dropper" gets caught dropping the golf ball in a glass though they have to down their pint.

2. Left hand/right hand drinking - one person with a watch with a minute hand is in charge. When the hand is on the left hand of the clock its left hand drinking only and vise versa. Losers down their drinks and the person in charge is the only watch that can be used as the real time.

3. No crossing of limbs (best for when you are all sitting down) - anyone crossing their legs, arms, fingers, anything and getting caught downs their pint.

4. Chairmans choice - each person in turn goes to the bar and orders a round of any various drinks they can think of. They then number them and the others choose and number and down the corresponding drink.

5. Freeze card - depending on the size of the group a number of playing cards are given out (normally only a couple). When you are given the card you have to freeze in exactly that position no matter what for 2 mins. This is very funny if you catch someone as they cross a busy road or get them on a dance floor then get everyone else to clear it. Once the person becomes unfrozen they can then get their revenge by giving the card out next time.

I had mine in Madrid at the end of April - can highly recommend it. We got cheap flights and accomodation through Trailfinders. Fantastic city, blinding weekend!

Leeds is a very cool place, but I live there so am probably biased.

I have it on good authority that if you do Barcelona you must visit the strip club called Bagdad. A guy who works for me had his there and he still goes misty eyed when talking about the place.
