Thinking about getting one, can see the beneifts, but they ain't cheap. Presumably GPS-based is the way forward, but do they work?

-any feedback speedmeisters?

I've a Geodesy & wouldn't drive unknown roads without 1. Numpty councils that hide cameras behind trees don't deserve our money.
It's just as useful on familiar roads though, when concentration can slip.

Let's hope the 30 zone was an imposed restriction on a motorway as opposed to an urban area......

-I'm assuming he didn't have one fitted in the motor!

There was another system on the market (can't find the original review on this site) -it had an adjustment for direction to avoid falso alarms.....anyone remember the name of the manufacturer?

Origin Blue! It comes with a smart LCD panel telling you the speed limit of the road you're on. I believe it gives 2 different warnings, depending whether you're over the limit or not.
I was thinking of buying one, but the subscrption is more than fro geodesy.

Excellent, that's the name I was after -sounds more like a washing powder than a gatso detector, wonder why I couldn't remember it!

Yawn.......I don't know I didn't bother to ask him, all I do know is that blanket "he deserves it for that in a 30" is complete bollox. Over the last few years I have seen speed limits reduced in numerous places for absolutely no reason, including one local to me where it went from a national limit directly to a 30, it is a 2 car wide road, edged by bushes, trees and fields no where near any houses, shops, schools, or regular hazards.

I would recomend a Bell unit to go with the Geodesy unit. The problem with the Geodesy unit is that it only works with fixed cameras due to the fast it is only a GPS unit and if this unit is used with a good radar unit like the Bell, you are on a wining combination
Good luck with your choice

Yebbut once you have the bell, why do you need the geodesy?

Or to put it another way, once you have the Bell and the Geodesy, all you need is laser diffusers front & rear - then you're getting somewhere.

What are we all going to do when teleportation comes along - no more need to speed!

ooh except that'll get banned as well, or you'll get ticketed cos you travelled too fast thru the ether!!

100mbits in a 10mbits zone..

And of course you run the risk of teleporting the wrong way up a half duplex connection

When is someone going ot combine the GPS system with a decent radar /laser detector? They'd clean up.
