..and it feels very, very nice. Now, the only problem was, my friend who fitted them didn't have the "N" rated P-Zeros so put P-Zero Rossos on them instead. Should this be ok? He told me they are the Ferrari-rated tyres, so will do my Boxster S no problem.

Previously debated on this forum (check archives), but basically most people here seemed to reckon there wasn't a huge amount of difference in normal use between N rated tyres and good non-N rubber.

Thanks Domster

I suppose the question is then - are the P-Zero Rossos good non - N rated tyres??

I dunno about the P Zero Rossos, but P Zeros have a good reputation. My current choice of tyre would be the Goodyear Eagle F1, for mixture of price/performance.

Wouldn't worry about it. You aren't running on remoulds, and the rubber is new, so you or the road surface are likely to be the weakest links in the handling equation, not the tyres

Will your insurance cover be affected?

Not in the UK but possibly overseas. Or so the nice man at Toyo told me when I phoned up about the possibility of fitting Proxes T1-S's on my RS (I actually went for Goodyear F1's in the end, also not N rated).

I would say its more likely to be me....this car really does tempt me to drive just that little bit too fast - and I absolutely love it
