Evening all

I'm planning in hardwiring a Roadhawk in car camera in my 2010 Cayman. I was hoping that when I removed the fusebox cover I would see a nice juicy screw to use as an earthing point. No such luck. Anybody done similar got any tips?

I appreciate I could use the power socket in passenger footwell but that's permanent live and the hardwire kit comes with a thingy which cuts the power if the car voltage drops. Hardwiring also gives me the option to tap into a switched live if I decide I don't trust aforementioned thingy :-)

Cheers

I've done just the same thing with a Roadhawk HD. When you open up the fusebox panel, if you peel back the carpet slightly, there's a convenient bolt under there, so conveniently place it almost seems as though it was ready-made. The earth can go there.

Hi Mankey

Thanks for that. Roadhawk HD here also.

I just had a look and struggling to find it. The carpet is pretty tight into the fusebox. Did you remove the three screws in the fuse box to free the carpet? Is it above, below, left, right of the fusebox?

Appreciate your help.

It's ok - I found it.

Which fuse did you tap into. I'm thinking I'd rather go switched rather than permanent so considering rear wiper fuse?
