What's happened to which motor? Or is it just stone chips.

>>>Actually glad you asked, cos someone's keyed the wife's motor

Forget Chipsaway in Bristol, - I ended up driving over to see the concessionnaire who said the best solution to 5 or so deep stone chips (I was preping a car for sale) was either a respray of the front end or do it myself using a needle and a touch up pot. Guess which option I went for

This was about 6-8 months ago,

Glen

S4 paint starting to look a bit tatty, scratched on one side, stone chips, one little tiny dent. But I've decided to keep it and spend the money I was going to spend as a down payment on an S6, on the Quattro.

S4 wheels need refinishing too...

Ah Honest Freddie I see you're in Poole - highly convenient for me as a matter of fact. Where to in Poole or are you mobile?

PS Are you related to the toy/model shop boys?

I think Scuffs went bust. Good job too, given the appalling job they did on dad's Jag.

There is a company (i think) called "dents n dings" (drive around in a new mini cooper) in the Bristol area. I had them recommended to me by a couple of places when some reversed into the Pugs door.

Seemed really busy, but came out to take a look a couple of weeks later. Unfortunatley they said the dent was too big and they wouldn't be able to get it good enough and thus it would not be good for their reputation, so wouldn't touch it.

Did you find anywhere local in the end, or nip down to Poole?

I have a scuff on my Alpine's rear bumper. The chipsaway chap that came to see me in Weston said no problem and could do light scratches on the door mirrors and a very small one on the front for £170.

I'd of gone ahead but at the time I couldn't find the paint code.

VMW motors in winterbourne are the dog's danglers at spraying.

I will have a word with Dave who is in the trade if you like. He should know a good sprayman.

Had Shaun from chipsaway around the day before yesterday. seems like a pretty decent job, but haven't had the car out in the daylight yet to really tell, will do this w/e.
he did the scratch on pass side door/rear wing ( rendered garage wall so as you can imagine it was like the surface of the moon ) and the garze over the headlight and a few chips ( i think! ).
141 quid all in, so for that i probably have little case for complaint.

Well, HonestFreddie "did" my car at last, this morning - excellent job! Car looks great. Should have taken some before and after pics.

Thanks Freddie.
