Before I pull the trigger I would like to check I am getting the correct load ratings

315 30 18 michelin PS2 N2 98Y
and
235 40 18 Michelin PS2 N4 91 Y

For the front there is also :
michelin PS3 235/40 ZR18 95Y non N rated
and
Michelin PS2 235/40 ZR18 95Y XL non N rated

Thanks in advance

315 were never stock/standard on a 996 turbo (if that's what you are asking?)

Forget PS3's as they are not a high performance tyre.

Indeed, 295 30 18 are the stock. I meant to say am using the stock wheels.
But have read a lot of people on the forum are using 315 30 18.
Just wondering if the ones I selected are the correct load rating for the car.

The Tyre sizes in your original post are for a .6 GT2 which have 8.5 and 12 inch Front and rear rims respectively, compared with the 8 and 11 for a turbo.

that said, you should be able to run the wider tyres on the narrower rim.

If using the wider rear Tyre you do need to run the wider tyre on the front to ensure rolling radius is in spec, as it MAY cause front diff issues on the 4WD Turbo.

Things to be aware of...

Fender rubbing on the front and rear as well as inner wheel fender where the turbo hoses run in the rear especially if your car is lowered, note the GT2 has the fender arches rolled whereas the Turbo does not.

ETA
Correct 'Wider' tyre sizes are

315/30 ZR18 Rear
235/40 ZR18 Front

So load rating wise for the front wheels, do I go with 91 or 95?

You must have a typo there?

As you rightly state one must be careful re rolling radius, the rears there have a larger radius but the fronts are stock.

The diff will be working overtime and (pure speculation) perhaps PSM will complain, too, thinking something untoward is happening?

Just pointing out so the OP is not unitentionally misled.

Re load ratings my understanding is no worries there is a generous surplus.

Actually stock front is 225!!
I've run 235/40 315/30 PS2 for the last 2 sets of tyres.
Front rear match for rolling radius and no rubbing issues.
Front load rating is 91.

Just put 315/30 on the rear for the next set then all good!

I wish it were that simple! I also bought new rears!

Seeing how the (online) supplier will handle this.

I bought them off the Italian site for Delticom, the UK version (mytyres.co.uk) misled me by recommending 235s when I entered my reg so we'll see where this goes - as the fine print on their site suggests a Euro120 "admin/restocking" fee apart from me bearing the costs of their return (!!)

If they waive this, then all's well. If not I will probably try to flog them myself.

Oh well. The only consolation is that the total savings between their prices and what a local supplier quoted, is around the same as the actual price of the wrong fronts... so being positive, I'm not in the red yet!
