Can't say it sailed through but I have 12 months ticket!
One fog light failed, but that was just a bit of corrosion so sorted it whilst he tested the emissions. Brakes were spot on, even the handbrake.
Great thing about the place I used is that he had me sit in the car and do everything whilst he walked around so he didn't notice my arms like Popeye holding the handbrake on LOL
The cooling fan stopped working so it overheated, but it had been idling for nearly an hour by then and hopefully that's just a fuse popped.. Will check when i get back off holiday.
So, when I get back I'll fix the cooling issue and then put it up for sale with 12 months MOT and 6 months tax. It'll make someone a lovely cheap to own TVR and I'll be sad to see it go but the Chimaera is just a little more fit for my purposes (not better!)

try starting at the fan end and work back to the fuse box - my fan failure was a dodgey connector (corroded and disintegrated) just before the actual fan.(established after i started at the fuse/relay end!!)

Only i started at the fan end so it only took 5 mins to find and repair LOL
Of course, just when I was feeling smug the fuel pump relay died, but hey, I was at home and had a spare anyway :-)

I had exactly the same issues with my fan, make sure it spins nice & freely by hand, if there's any resistance to turning when there's no supply, it's time to replace it.
And make sure the fuseholder & relay base & wiring haven't overheated.
The fuse is quite a high rating ( 20 amps ) to allow the initial current surge on start-up, and a seizing fan draws a high current for quite a while before the fuse finally melts. Can cause problems with the rest of the circuit overheating & damage to insulation in other circuits in the loom.
Not being alarmist, just be aware.

Cheers - mine's a bit different in that I fitted a Kenlowe kit last year and none of the original wiring is used except where the feed connects to the fan..
