Been looking for a 2002/2003 R1 in Silver and Black at a budget price between £5k and £6k. Have found an immaculate example, but with high mileage (17k to be exact) It's got a FSH and has been dyno'd with an attractive high level, blue flame race can. Should I be worried about the mileage?

Cheers

If the body is perfect but the mileage is so high it may have been tracked/rebuilt/both?

On its own, though, I wouldn't have thought the mileage was a problem - so long as the consumables are in good order.

I had an R6 for around 13,000 miles and it still runs absolutely perfectly - my sister now owns it.

No. My 2001 blade has 17k miles on it and I'm not even vaguely concerned that it is any other state than "just about run in".

All you need to do is to square the cost vs. any consumables it might need such as tyres, brakes pads, brake discs (unlikely) and chain and sprockets (much more likely) and make sure it's had all the right services including any checking of valve clearances that it might have required and then work out if it's still a good price.

I've also had a blade I ran to 21k, as well as a 748 that was 13k in it's second year.

If you're buying a bike that is high for it's year then as long as you've got service history & the price is reflective then you should be ok - especially wit Jap stuff.
