I've been pulled over many times cruising at 100mph plus around my local roads. On one occasion twice in 2 days by the same traffic car. No points just a friendly "pls slow down and can we have a quick look around the car."
I would hope that they take a similar attitude with the nos plate as its easy enough to see what it is but you may be right - if they pull me over and complain I'll change it but had it over month and no probs so far.

You should do it. Its amazing what a difference this tiny mod to steering wheel and gearstick makes to the way the car feels to drive. Shouldn't make such a difference but it does.On the plate saw it cheap whilst up in Stirling and couldn't say no for the money - i think it suits the car
Car looks great, and you've added some tasteful additions, but the plate is trying far far too hard.
Having correct spacing, legality aside, would IMO make it look far less shouty and crass and restore attention to the car, not the plate.
But one man's meat is another man's poison; it's your car and you can obviously do what you want with it...:-) Enjoy - awesome car.

I also have the multi-function wheel and it could do with being a bit thicker...looks like this did the trick
Agree about the plate. My brother had a slightly mis-appropriated plate on his X5.....was warned locally, then on a trip outside the area, he got done

Love the tail pipes on your turbo but think OPC get a bit sniffey honouring warranty even on small mods like the tail pipes if not OEM. Those look like Designtek tail pipes which are definitely an improvement. Will ask OPC to space the plate properly when I next send the car in. Ironically I did not ask for the plate to be spaced like this. This is how the plates were delivered to and then fitted by an OPC although plate made by an outside subcontractor.
