Not happy at slow speeds...

Not just me, but the car as well!

Normally not an issue, but if I HAVE to drive slowly, the car is almost kangerooing (ie won't settle on an even speed)- above 2k revs it is not noticable. Also, no issue at tick-over.

- Any suggestions as to what I have to hit with a hammer to cure it?

Use a 10 kg knock-o-meter in a central position of the engine would do the trick

Could be a little dirt in the fuel, maybe filter a little blocked, more revs pushes more past the blockage.?
Is this just since it has got a little warmer weather? Maybe a little fuel evaporation?
Dizzy cap, cracked or scratched or condensation/dirt within ?
Or something else entirely.

Andy, had you "messed" with anything just before this started?

Have you tried basics, wiggle any and all wiring connections and plugs, check for air leaks on induction hoses or servo hose, clean AFM sensors, check dizzy cap for signs of arcing (inside and out) HT leads again for arcing to earth or across each other and plugs (already suggested i think)

Basically I haven't knowingly fiddled with any thing. I believe it has been going on for ages (years?) but just been used to it. It may or may not have got slightly worse with time.

Does that give any clues?

Clive is kinda awesome with this stuff and the few quid it costs is well worth it. Though there's not much to do near his workshop, except watch them in action

What ECU have you got fitted and what is the base ignition timing set to? There are 2 type of ECU used, one for 98RON leaded and the other for unleaded.

I'd check the ECU part number and then set the appropriate timing. Give me a shout if you want more info.

Hi

Had a similar problem a couple years back when I first purchased the car, try and source a good OEM TPS sensor and check the wiring near the plenum chamber, as this solved the problem instantly for me!

Clive and team have never failed me the 2 times I have unsolvables 1x tvr 1x BMW 525d

Been mentioned before previous thread but had similar problems in mine, simply cleaned the 'pin connections' on the throttle pot and instantly solved the very annoying problem.

Concur with Neil S3 comments - had the same thing with mine approx. 2yrs after buying it, replaced the Throttle Pot without joy, did a bit more research and returned said item to supplier demanding a replacement which worked like a dream (and still running 15yrs on) - just because its new its a bit of electronics that were duff on supply!
