my 997 has pasm, does the car sit 10mm lower only when its swiched on, or does it sit lower all the time.

Alf,

switching on PASM stiffens the dampers only.

is that right pasm is working even though you dont switch it on . cheers

Yes, it is always on. The switch simply biases how stiff it feels overall. But te systems keeps adjusting the damping rate automatically. For normal road conditions you'll probably find pressing the button makes the car too stiff and fidgety

yes not long had it, and find that button gets the old teeth shattering,on our b roads, smileps just need to find a comfy driving position now

Leave it in normal mode unless you are in a track or smooth European roads. As it is always working it will adjust to your driving style.

Gen1 or gen2 car? Gen2 PASM is significantly better than the gen1 car, and the harder mode is actually usable on UK roads hehe

From my own personal experience, try turning the PSM off when putting the PASM into hard mode: It makes it a significantly better ride, more like the gen2. Well, it did on my mate's 997.1 T4S, anyway. Very odd feeling, and none of the tech guides mention anything about the PSM effecting the PASM in that way. It definitely, definitely does though.
