Which motorsport should replace the F1 on tv ??
Discussion
BTCC? Touring cars is always great to watch, but I think the current coverage is a bit too cut down, don't seem to see the whole of the race.
Failing that, how about some of the grassroots motorsport? I bet that's seriously exciting to watch?
How about the small one make series'? Or classic saloon cars? Would love to see some SD1s and Capris battling it out!
Even trackday footage would be fun!
I watch F1 if it's in, and some of the races this season have been interesting, but I am so hacked off with Bernie and his empire. This country has a fantastic motorsport heritage, and to find out we're losing the GP??? I think it should be at Brands anyway....

Bring back those bonkers rally cross cars please. In a Pykes Peak group B stylie with lag eliminators & hoofing big spoilers & flaming exhausts.
Me thinks that might be slightly more interesting than watching 800bhp fag packets on a Scalectrix tracks.
Oh & can I drive please!!!!!!

And while we're at it, lets bring back group B as a whole. Sure they were dangerous, but a lot cooler than the WRC boys.
Over here all we get is NASCAR. And F1. But never DTM, BTCC, Aussie v8, etc. Damn little WRC too.
I still miss World of Sport. Grandstand always showed Football, Rugby, Horse Racing and some F1.
But World of Sport brought us the wonders of Banger Racing and who else remembers Truck Racing on the US ovals?
Most motor racing is covered on terrestrial or satellite TV these days now but I think one that could benefit by extra coverage is Formula 3, ideally on a program to include BTCC and British GT's. Or the other races on the F3 program.

These's and all stars touring car race on ITV sunday, ex champs etc. Should keep the panel beaters happy!
Also the WSB finale, a 2 horse ducati race, with a honda outsider, promisses to be good. Even Magny cours is interesting on a bike. Lots of smoking tyres a Imola last wekend. If you missed it you missed a treat. Check it out. Even if your a 4 whell buff.
Solberg may produce another blinding drive in the rally?
There's lots of life without F1. Only thing is in the early 80's the gp drivers were quiting the sport due to ground affect cars. They aint doing so yet, exept Panis, prehaps the wedge is good enough?

for entertainments sake you could do worse than the Formula Ford carnival at Castle Combe today!
Lost count of the red flags, no one injured just a lot of eager drivers out there on a greasy track! Both FF1600 heats were red flagged, the final had two red flags in it and there were a few more in the supporting races....
Great afternoon thats it till March 2005 though

You need to get out more. If I wanted to watch saloon cars smashing the hell out of each other I'd go to my local oval stadium and watch a decent (and more entertaining) banger race. Touring cars have lots of overtaking but they have to hit each other in the process to make it 'exciting'. Sorry, that's not racing.

Get up from the arm chair and go to a race meeting then. It's a whole lot better than watching on TV!
